 Lanseria International Airport is a small privately-owned airport located in the North West of Johannesburg to service mainly domestic routes though its also used by chartered flights to/from anywhere in the world. The airport is popular because of its low cost flights & so is a good option when on a low budget. It takes about one hour to drive the 50km from OR Tambo Airport (JNB) to Lanseria Airport but this is easily doubled to 2 hours during peak hour periods! Currently, Johannesburg’s bullet train, the Gautrain, does not connect OR Tambo Airport and Lanseria Airport though plans are afoot to do so within the next decade.
